- The most important and basic step is to Install the Alexa toolbar or Firefox’s SearchStatus extension and set your blog as your homepage.

- Use MySpace . This is a little shady so I don’t recommended it unless you’re really interested in artificially inflating your Alexa Rank. Use visually attractive pictures or banners and link them to your redirected Alexa URL. This will be most effective if your website has content that is actually relevant to the MySpace Crowd.
- Try Alexa auto-surfs. Do they work? Maybe for brand new sites. I think they are mostly suitable for new websites with a very poor Alexa rank. Note that there be problems when you try to use auto surfs alongside contextual ads like Adsense. They aren’t also long term solutions to improving your Alexa Rank so I suggest using with caution.

Alexa works in different ways. Its not accurate but atleast it shows you improvements on your website. I use it on my sites
Best thing which I use is install alexa toolbar whereever I go and then my site homepage .People don't care about homepages in public computers.

Alexa Rankings do not impact, influence, or accurately predict web traffic. They are simply a rough estimation that interested parties can use to attempt to analyze your site. Slightly useful if you're looking at your competition, for example, but by no means a true measure of traffic or worth.

I wouldn't spend time focusing on improving Alexa ranking specifically, but some of your suggestions on how to do so- such as writing quality content, are great suggestions that will help out far more than a better Alexa ranking will. As to the rest, meant specifically for Alexa, that time can be spent doing things that will provide more value.
I target SEO and online marketing niches to improve Alexa. However, my main target is writing content for my readers. The more traffic that you get, the more your Alexa rank will improve to a degree. The real deal is getting target is "targeted traffic". That is what you need to sell your products and services!
I think purchasing traffic, is a waste of money.

I have been working on trying to increase the alexa on this site, and i managed to do so for about 3 months just by writing quality articles. it seems the ranking is slipping again and i’m losing traffic.
