One of the most common problem I find with some of my fellow bloggers is about their traffic. They just can’t get more traffic even if they try blog promotion. Increasing site traffic is the most important task to do as a blogger because it is also a kind of an inspiration to continue blogging. I recently wrote about how to promote your website and today I am writing about those 4 simple steps to increase your blog traffic. You are free to share this article if you like it!
Write Killer Articles
First thing as it is always said that the content is the kind of any blog, you should try to write killer articles on your blog every once in a week or whichever frequent schedule suits your blogging style. You need to brainstorm your ideas, research more about the topic and try to write the best out of it.
I believe, killer article is nothing but a long article which is structured properly in a way to provide huge amount of information to the visitor. For example, you may write about :
- List of Resources for a particular thing or a task
- Tutorial article explaining everything about the topic
- Insight into the topic which is most discussed currently
In short, when a visitor reads your article, the reaction should be just “WOW”!
Write Normal Articles Regularly
Read the title again, It is not all about posting daily but it is about regularity. Writing normal articles regularly helps you as you can link them via your killer article. Writing 5 normal articles in between two killer articles is a good idea according to me.
Normal articles should be short and sweet which should explain the point to the visitor straight away without any additional text or anything else. They should be about :
- Latest news in your niche.
- Trick articles.
- Review articles.
Networking With Related People
This is again the most essential part as it is reflected in each traffic gaining articles! Dedicate some time of the day for networking as it helps you bring in those additional visitors to your blog. Steps listed below should be followed :
- Commenting on other blogs
- Interacting with interesting and influenced people on Social networking.
- Ask others to share your articles to Social bookmarking and return the favor.
- Reply to all the comments you’ve received and have not replied yet.
Remember, you should not irritate people while asking for bookmarking shares or while interacting. Your aim should be to build relationship which can last longer and be helpful to you in future as well
Promotion Of Articles
This point is not about promoting your blog but it is about promoting your articles. Promoting your articles is the most important thing and specially for your killer articles. You surely would not like to let your hard work go in vain, would you? So, it is necessary to promote them. Below listed steps should be followed :
- Commenting on blogs with commentluv enabled
- Try to get more social bookmarking save
- Try to get more ReTweets for an article and FB share if not more
Final words
So, these were those 4 steps which in my opinion are essential to follow to get more traffic to your blog and increase web traffic as well. This will not increase your blog traffic but also your comments as some of the bloggers do like to comment back on your blog if you comment on theirs. Some good simple tips here, but there is no point writing killer content if no-one is going to see it.
Networking can be key to getting some good shares on social sites but also choose your topics and titles carefully. Afterall if you want to pre-long traffic there is no quick win, it's all about natural search…
