I'm enjoying the realtime streaming and right now I don't think I should disable it. Anyway, thank you for pointing out the option.

When I sit for some serious task like writing a post, I close TweetDeck altogether. In other times, its good to get notification immediately. I've noticed some friends won some blogging contest because he/she was the first one to retweet. I was lagging behind because I was using twitter. This problem is no more now =/

I remember a bit back i could not win a contest because I was using tweetDeck and the prize was given to another fellow who retweeted the message first.

you are right! I agree with you and even I am now loving this feature after getting used to it but at first, I was very annoyed which lead me to write this article but still, people having large number of follows will want to disable it :)

I created list of people whose twitter feeds i want to follow & only use those feeds in tweetdeck that way it makes it easier to get the news i want rather then looking news of all my followers

Lovely thank you. You've just saved my sanity!! Can't concentrate whilst I've got stuff flashing on my screen.

Can I silently disable real-time streaming using script?
Does TweetDeck use registry keys to configure its settings?
